Typhoon Season

The shift to operational technology

A sophisticated threat actor has gained a foothold in your IT environment... But this time, the attack doesn’t stop there.

Increasingly, attackers use IT as an entry point to move laterally into Operational Technology (OT), where they can impact critical processes and real-world operations. Volt Typhoon has demonstrated how this approach enables long-term access to critical infrastructure and introduces a new level of risk.

During this “choose your own adventure” workshop, you will experience a cyber crisis based on Volt Typhoon activity, unfolding from an initial IT compromise into an OT incident. You’ll take on the role of key stakeholder, making decisions under pressure as the scenario unfolds while balancing containment, operational continuity, and external pressures.

What you'll gain

  • A better understanding of the risks and impact of OT-targeted attacks
  • Increased awareness of the legal and regulatory implications
  • Actionable advice for stakeholder management.
  • The chance to connect with industry colleagues and security experts
  • Insights into how attackers pivot from IT systems into operational environments

Who it's for

  • Security and IT professionals responsible for safeguarding OT and/or critical infrastructure and ensuring operational continuity.
  • Executive leaders who may be required to make time-critical choices during a cyber crisis.
