Are you the DevOps engineer we are looking for?
Be polite, be courteous, show professionalism and have a plan to kill everyone in the room
Hunt & Hackett helps European companies prevent, detect and respond to today’s most advanced adversaries, safeguarding them against cyberthreats and espionage. We don’t stir a bit into security strategies; our talented team of responsible rebels shakes them up to build, operate and maintain digital immune systems for our customers to outsmart their digital adversaries.
To extend our multidisciplinary team we are now hiring an DevOps engineer. Do you like neat, optimized, nice and shiny orchestrated container-based infrastructures? Does a new production environment, deployed by pressing a single button, make you ecstatic? Do cloud native applications and building new services in the cloud make your clock tick? Do you belong to the most talented group of DevOps engineers in the industry – or is this where you plan to be? Then Hunt & Hackett might be the best next step in your career.
DevOps at Hunt & Hackett
At Hunt & Hackett we believe that modern cyber security requires scalable cloud platforms, automation, reliable data pipelines and a "we don't reinvent the wheel" mentality. As a Rebel DevOps Engineer, you are not simply supporting infrastructure; you are enabling our security experts, developers and analysts to deliver world-class services to our customers. Your mission is to design, build and maintain secure, scalable and highly automated cloud environments. You will continuously improve our development and deployment processes, ensuring that applications and services can move from idea to production quickly, safely and reliably.
CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code and observability are part of your daily toolkit. Technologies such as Python, Git, Docker, Terraform, Prometheus and cloud-native services are second nature to you. You understand that automation is not a luxury but a necessity, and you are always looking for ways to eliminate repetitive manual work.
You believe that if a task needs to be performed more than twice, it deserves a script. If that script eventually grows into a platform used by half the company, that's usually considered a successful Tuesday. You work closely with developers, security specialists and analysts to build platforms that are secure by design and easy to operate. You understand the challenges developers face and help them deliver software faster and more reliably through automation, standardization and self-service capabilities.
You know the difference between solving a problem and creating an entirely new one that happens to use serverless functions. Of course, things occasionally break. That's why we value engineers who remain calm when dashboards turn red, logs start scrolling faster than they should, and someone casually asks in Teams: "Did anybody change something?"
Finally, you are not only capable of building solutions but also of documenting and communicating them effectively. You understand how technical decisions translate into business value and vice versa. Because as much as we would like to believe otherwise, "the architecture is self-documenting" is usually a sign that no documentation exists. You have a customer-first mindset and enjoy finding pragmatic solutions that help both our customers and our teams succeed.

A culture of ‘responsible rebellion’
Only (very) talented, multidisciplinary teams of threat hunters, intelligence analysts, reverse engineers, data scientists, developers and hackers are able to outsmart the increasingly professional community of cyber attackers. We pride ourselves as a force for the good and as such we think and act as responsible rebels. We are not ‘just another security company’, and our people are not ‘just employees’. Everyone at Hunt & Hackett wants to be the best in their field and focusses at delivering next-gen levels of service. This means that we:
- Security first: a foundational core value that underscores our company's unwavering commitment to prioritizing security in all aspects of our operations.
- Pushing the envelope: Everyone at our teams takes the responsibility to make our work better every day, by being creative to color outside of the lines if needed.
- Everything is important: Tiny details have a huge impact, especially in security. We are system thinkers that oversee the big picture and who are simultaneously obsessive about details. That’s why we champion tradecraft.
- Perseverance: To become successful, you will have to endure challenges, errors, failures and obstacles along the way. These may take weeks, months, or years to overcome.
- Ego is the enemy: Ego ultimately prevents us from learning, holds us back and makes us overreach. It is therefore important to battle that inner force that destroys great empire's, companies, careers and tears apart relationships.
